| My wife and I visited Santorini for our honeymoon and decided to stay at Delfini Villas. The booking process was simple and easy with help from Panos and Ioannis. I had forgotten to let them know we would be arriving at 2pm, but Ioannis graciously showed us to our room which "was not quite ready yet" and wasn't the one we originally booked...insert awesome experience #1, it was an upgrade to the executive suite! We gladly accepted the upgrade and went for a short walk while the staff finished cleaning the room.
The room was near the beginning of the pedestrian walkway and was much quieter than near the Castle. Bakery across the street, grocery store less than 75m away, plenty of restaurants and shops within crawling distance. Perfect location.
We returned and checked out the room. Balcony, two seats with a café table, amazing views, and a jacuzzi! Bathroom, clean and tidy with a jacuzzi tub! Bedroom, huge, comfortable King size bed with great reading lights on either side and a flat screen TV on a pullout wall hinge to one side. Closet, large enough to fit all my wife's clothes, my clothes, and my wife herself...we didn't try, but it would've worked! Living area, comfortable sofa and chair with another giant flat screen TV. The room was fantastic.
However, our best experiences were with the staff. Ioannis sat us down for the first 15 minutes and explained the island history, the sights, the beaches, the restaurants (his recommendations were spot on!), the excursions, etc... Extremely helpful. Rena brought us our excellent Greek breakfast to our balcony every morning at 9:30am sharp and let us know that if we needed anything else she was close by.
Rena also surprised us when she offered to drive us one morning to a local winery where we were going to do a tasting. When we were ready she drove us, dropped us off, politely refused a tip of any kind, and firmly insisted we call her for a ride back to Oia when we finished.
Finally, my wife became a little ill from lunch the day before we left and Rena and Ioannis literally nursed my wife for 20 minutes, bringing her tea, extra blankets, water, etc... Rena even helped me pack her suitcase the following morning.
Besides the amazing room, beautiful views, and everything else Oia has to offer, I would return to Defini VIllas solely for the people! I can honestly say we had the best hospitality in the world (all-inclusive resorts included). We had an amazing experience on our honeymoon and will certainly return here in the future.
