Sitting on a private balcony on a balmy night overlooking a magical sunset and sharing a last drink as a single person with my fiance, I heard music like a choir of angels from the operatic composer's chalet next door. I hadn't known such beauty and tranquility since I could remember. As the sun dipped below the horizon we made our way to the dining area - overwhelmed by the entire experience we had no idea what to order - the waiter made us THE perfect cocktails and served us excellent meals which he chose for us. This place was amazing - no fuss check-in, delightful and unintrusive chit-chats with staff, THAT amazing massage they arranged and the cute bed turndown on our wedding night with lollies arranged on the bed spelling out the word "LOVE". I would highly recommend this establishment for the discerning traveler who appreciates their privacy (and without the screaming kids dive bombing the swimming pool). We stayed in the world's only 7 star hotel on this trip and frankly, couldn't tell the difference.

One week at the Esperas is not long enough. My fiancee and i had the most amazing week of our lives here and found it hard to leave. The Esperas is hidden at the quiter end of the town of Oia, which adds to the romance of the daily sunsets which provided us with some amazing photo's. It has a view that is simply breathtaking. Our room was a traditional villa which had a shower and hot tub, which was a beautiful way to end a stressful day, spent lying in the sun by the pool, drinking cocktails. (If only life was this hard everyday). The view from our room made relaxing so much easier. Having a coctail by the pool, overlooking the Caldera is purely an amazing experience. The staff are absolutely amazing, they are the most friendly, welcoming people that we have ever met whilst travelling abroad. Our room was cleaned twice a day and the lollies placed on your pillow at night just show you that they are there to attend your every need. It is the little things that seperates the Esperas from the rest. Julian and Adriana will make your stay there one you will never forget. The Esperas touched our hearts like no other place whilst on our 3 month trip. We will definately be returning in the near future.
