At this area, for over 200 years, there was situated the forge of Oia village, occupying local craftsmen who used their elbow grease and hack value to create articles of hammered iron for household usage as well as agricultural tools, seafaring components for sailing ships equipment and also the fine-cut balusters which used to decorate the doors, windows and balconies of Santorini island. All of them perfectly finished to the fingernail, quite adapted to the location and made in forms that strike with admiration for their beauty and functionality. Plenty of them are saved up to our days reminding every man the tradition of our land and claiming the genuine admiration of the visitor.

At the area of the old forge, up to the Cliffside, surrounded by the underground built houses, the caves and the still existing workshop, there was set Caldera Villas. A traditionalgroup of residence house, fully equipped for all modern facilities yet in perfect harmony with the traditional architecture and the special natural environment of our island.
