Emporio easily accessed by local bus. Beautiful blue and white houses with a surprise around every corner. It has a beautiful church Palia Panagia which is looked after by the villages and if you ask nicely they may let you see inside. Round another corner there are the ruins of a fortified castle but the most surprising was a small taverna we stumbled across it was like a little oasis just when we need it most. It has a magnificent view with such a peaceful setting you may find it hard to leave so it is lucky they do serve food as well as wine , beer and soft drinks including tea and coffee.
